UAE: Inflation in Dubai slows in January

Inflation in Dubai fell to 4.6% in January from 5.2% in December. Looking at sub-sectors, price rises were broadly based in January and particularly pronounced for recreation and culture.

Consumer prices in Dubai fell 0.58% month on month in January, contrasting December’s 0.57% rise.

Data for the UAE as a whole is not available past Q2 2022. However, in line with data for Dubai, price pressures in the UAE likely eased at the end of last year. Moreover, our panelists see overall inflation for the UAE moderating further in the coming quarters as external price pressures dim and interest rates rise.
