Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer falls in September
The KOF Economic Barometer fell to 110.6 in September from August’s 113.5. September’s result marked the worst performance since February. However, the index remained entrenched above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a still-positive near-term outlook for the Swiss economy despite a seeming easing of momentum in recent months.
Signs regarding foreign demand and manufacturing grew less positive and dragged on the headline reading, potentially linked to the spread of the Delta variant abroad and ongoing global supply constraints.
