Romania: Industrial output expands at quickest pace in six months in January
Industrial output grew 1.1% year-on-year in January, contrasting December’s 1.2% decline and marking the first growth in five months. The notable rebound came on the back of recoveries in manufacturing and mining and quarrying production.
On a monthly basis, industrial output increased 2.9% in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, rising from December’s 1.2% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 7.5% in January (December: +7.4%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
