Portugal: Consumer sentiment and economic climate improve marginally in April
Consumer confidence improved to minus 32.9 in April, up from minus 34.1 in March. The print came amid lower pessimism among households regarding both the future evolution of the country’s economic situation and households’ financial situation in the coming 12 months.
Meanwhile, the three-month moving average of the economic climate indicator ticked up to 2.2 in April, from March’s 2.1. Looking at the details, sentiment among firms in the manufacturing, trade and services sectors improved. Contrastingly, firms in the construction sector became more pessimistic.
