Poland: Manufacturing PMI falls in December
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 47.4 in December, down from November’s 48.7. As a result, the index fell further below the 50.0 no-change threshold, signaling a sharper deterioration in manufacturing sector operating conditions compared to the previous month.
Sharper contractions in output and new orders were behind the decrease in the headline reading. Meanwhile, employment continued to fall albeit at a softer pace than in November. On the price front, input costs declined marginaly, while output prices contined to fall. Lastly, business sentiment dipped but remained among the highest of the past two years.
