Poland: Industrial production slows in November
December 18, 2013
In November, industrial production rose 2.9% over the same month last year. The increase marked a deceleration from the 4.4% rise tallied in October, but beat market expectations of a 1.7% increase. The result reflected growth in the water supply and waste management sectors, in mining and quarrying, as well as in manufacturing.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial production increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.3%, which was a slight increase over the 0.2% expansion observed in October. The overall trend was up, with annual average growth in industrial production rising from October's 0.7% to 1.0% in November.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 1.9% in 2013, which is down 0.4 percentage points from last month's forecast. For 2014, the panel expects growth in industrial production to accelerate to 4.1%, which is down 0.5 percentage points from last month's projection.
