Poland: Industrial production rebounds in August

September 20, 2016

In August, industrial production expanded 7.5% over the same month last year, which notably contrasted the 3.4% contraction recorded in July. July’s result had marked the first contraction in almost two years. The upturn reflected a rebound in manufacturing growth and a less pronounced fall in mining and quarrying.

Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production rose from July’s 3.9% to 4.1% in August.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to increase 4.1% in 2016, which is down 0.3 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2017, the panel expects growth in industrial production to be 4.4%.
