Netherlands: Harmonized inflation rises in April
Harmonized inflation rose to 5.8% in April from March’s 4.5%. Looking at the details of the release, a rebound in transport inflation and a lower decline in housing prices more than offset softer price pressures for food items.
The trend pointed down, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 10.7% in April (March: 11.2%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 5.2% in April, from March’s 4.4%.
Finally, harmonized consumer prices rose 1.59% over the previous month in April, picking up from March’s 0.21% rise. April’s jump marked the highest reading since September 2022.
