Malaysia: Industrial output growth slows in September
Industrial output grew 10.8% year on year in September (August: +13.5% yoy). The reading was partly due to a deterioration in manufacturing production growth. In contrast, mining and quarrying output picked up pace.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, factory output rose at a softer pace of 0.7% in September (August: +1.6% mom). Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 7.6% in September (August: +6.9%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
