Lithuania: Economic sentiment eases in February
Economic sentiment fell to 96.0 in February from January’s 97.5. Consequently, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected languished sentiment in the industrial sector and construction sectors. Moreover, confidence in the services sector weakened in February. More positively, sentiment in the retail sector was up in the surveyed month, and consumer confidence increased in February.
Regarding indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations deteriorated, while the economic uncertainty index improved in February.
