Korea: Manufacturing PMI rises in January
The S&P Global Manufacturing PMI improved to 51.2 in January from 49.9 in December. As a result, the index moved above the 50.0 no-change threshold, and signaled an improvement in manufacturing sector operating conditions compared to the previous month.
Output and new orders and exports all returned to growth. There were also sustained rises in employment and purchasing activity. Meanwhile, input and output inflation rose. Finally, businesses’ year-ahead output outlook improved to a five-month high.
