Korea: Business confidence in the manufacturing sector improves but remains pessimistic in September
Business confidence among manufacturing firms rose to 96.0 in September from August’s 92.0. As such, the index moved closer to the 100-point threshold, but still signaled pessimism among businesses.
Taking a closer look, the improvement was mainly led by domestic demand-oriented firms, which grew less pessimistic. In addition, export-oriented firms became slightly more optimistic, with firms more upbeat about sales and profitability.
