Kazakhstan: Inflation increases in February
Consumer prices increased 0.80% over the previous month in February, up from the 0.69% rise logged in January. February’s reading was the highest since June 2021. Looking at the details of the print, the uptick was mainly driven by higher prices for food, health services and clothing and footwear.
Inflation came in at 8.7% in February, up from January’s 8.4%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 8.2% in February (January: 8.1%).
