Kazakhstan: Industrial output expands at fastest pace since May in December
Industrial production expanded 0.3% year-on-year in December (November: -2.9% yoy). The reading marked the best result since May. The notable turnaround was primarily due to an improvement in manufacturing and electricity, water and gas production. However, mining activity remained muted amid the OPEC+ production cuts.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.7% in December, down from November’s minus 0.2% reading.
