Italy: Industrial output rebounds in June
Industrial output increased 1.0% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in June, which contrasted May’s 1.6% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, output in the manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sub-sectors bounced back in June, while production growth in the mining and quarrying sub-sector picked up pace.
On an annual basis, industrial output increased 13.9% in June, which was well below May’s 21.1% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved significantly, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at plus 10.7% in June, up from May’s 8.4%.
