Israel: Exports rebound in March

In March, exports totaled USD 5.2 billion (February: USD 4.9 billion), according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The reading marked a 5.2% expansion over the same month last year, which contrasted the 15.3% decrease tallied in February.

Meanwhile, imports totaled USD 6.1 billion in March, which was above the USD 4.8 billion registered in February. March’s reading marked a 2.0% decrease year-on-year, which was an improvement over the 18.1% decrease observed in the previous month.

The trade balance recorded a USD 900 million deficit in March, which was up from the USD 1.3 billion deficit recorded in the same month last year. However, the figure contrasted the USD 100 million surplus observed in the previous month.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect exports to expand 4.4% in 2015 and 6.9% in 2016.
