Ireland: Manufacturing PMI rises in January
The AIB Ireland Manufacturing PMI improved to 49.5 in January from 48.9 in December. As a result, the index remained below the 50.0 no-change threshold, and signaled a softer deterioration in manufacturing sector operating conditions compared to the previous month.
Manufacturing output and new orders fell slightly, while employment rose and export sales were strong. Looking at prices, input inflation fell, while output inflation rose. Finally, business sentiment weakened.
