Indonesia: Inflation increases in July

August 2, 2021

Consumer prices rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.08% in July over the previous month, swinging from June's 0.16% fall.

Inflation inched up to 1.5% in July, rising from June’s 1.3% print. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged from the month prior, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.5% in July. Lastly, core inflation edged down to 1.4% in July, from the previous month's 1.5%.

FocusEconomics panelists project inflation of 2.0% in 2021, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. In 2022, inflation is seen averaging 2.9%.
