Hungary: Inflation jumps in March
Consumer prices jumped 0.70% from the previous month in March, matching February’s increase. March’s figure largely reflected higher prices for motor fuels, alcoholic beverages and tobacco and food.
Inflation soared to 3.7% in March from February’s 3.1%, marking the strongest rise in seven months. Meanwhile, the trend was unchanged, with annual average inflation coming in at February’s 3.1% in March. Lastly, core inflation inched down to 3.9% from the previous month’s 4.1%.
