Hong Kong: PMI hits highest reading since June in November
The S&P Global Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) rose to 50.1 in November from October’s 48.9. November’s result marked the best performance since June. As such, the index rose above the 50.0 no-change mark, signaling an improvement in private sector operating conditions from the previous month.
The reading was driven by employment and purchasing activity returning to growth, and output and new orders—including those from mainland China—declining at slower rates. Moreover, business sentiment improved.
