Guatemala: Economic activity growth loses pace in June, but remains elevated
Economic activity expanded 13.9% in year-on-year terms in June, which was down from May’s 16.3% increase and partly reflective of a less favorable base effect. Growth in activity was buoyed by the trade and repair of vehicles and the manufacturing sectors.
Meanwhile, annual average growth in economic activity jumped from 3.5% in May to 5.3% in June, marking the highest print since at least December 2014.
