Greece: Unemployment rate increases in July, breaking streak of sixth consecutive months of decline
July’s data pointed to a deterioration in the labor market. The number of employed people declined by 29,013 compared to June, while the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate increased from June’s 12.3% to 12.6% in July. Moreover, the number of unemployed inched-up by 10,509 from June to July. Meanwhile, the number of people outside the labor force increased by 16,465 people compared with June, representing a 0.5% rise.
