France: Consumer confidence hits near two-year low in November
The consumer confidence index dived to 90 in November from October’s 94, marking the worst reading since December 2018. As a result, the index moved further below the 100-threshold—its long-term average.
In November, consumers’ assessment of both their future financial situation and their expected standard of living in the coming twelve months turned notably more pessimistic. Moreover, households’ fears about unemployment rose from the previous month, while their expected savings intentions deteriorated markedly.
