Czech Republic: Manufacturing PMI eases in December
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 41.8 in December, down from November’s 43.2. As such, the index remained entrenched below the 50.0 no-change threshold, signaling a sustained deterioration in manufacturing sector operating conditions from the previous month.
December’s reading chiefly reflected sharper declines in output, new orders and employment. On the price front, input prices decreased for the tenth consecutive month but at a softer clip, while output prices dropped for the eitght consecutive month also at a slower pace. Lastly, business sentiment weakened although it remained upbeat overall.
