Chile: Inflation drops in November
Consumer prices decreased a seasonally-adjusted 0.13% in November over the previous month, swinging from the 0.68% rise seen in October. November’s result was the sharpest fall in prices since December 2018. Looking at the details of the release, prices for clothing and footwear and alcoholic beverages and tobacco fell the most. In contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and for transport increased.
Inflation dipped to 2.7% in November from 3.0% in October. Annual average inflation inched up to 3.1% from October’s 3.0%. Lastly, core inflation was stable at October’s 2.4% in November.
