Bulgaria: Inflation edges up in July

Consumer prices rose 0.8% from the previous month in July, contrasting June’s 0.6% downturn. According to the Statistical Institute, July’s increase largely reflected higher prices in the transport, and recreation and culture components.

Inflation inched up to 2.9% in July (June: 2.8%), while annual average inflation remained steady at June’s 3.3%.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to average 3.0% in 2019, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. For 2020, panelists see inflation averaging 2.7%.
