Austria: Industrial output contracts in November
Industrial output dropped 0.8% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in November, swinging from October’s 1.6% jump. The fall in production came on the back of a notable decrease in energy and non-durable consumer goods output. On the other hand, production of durable consumer goods grew robustly and limited the fall in the headline.
Compared to the same month a year prior, industrial production rose 0.1% in November, after flatlining in October. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming at minus 5.7% in November (October: -5.8%).
