GDP in Honduras
Honduras - GDPThe economy grew a robust 4.0% year-on-year in Q4, helping overall growth in 2016 match that from a year earlier. Moreover, it looks as though 2017 began on the right foot with the Economic Activity Index (IMAE) rising in January on the back of a surge in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors, while in the same month higher commodity prices and improved global demand boosted export growth to double digits. Meanwhile, remittances from abroad—a key source of foreign exchange and a significant share of household income—have soared since January in anticipation of the new U.S. administration’s promised immigration crackdown.
