Latvia: Harmonized inflation falls to lowest level since June 2022 in February
Harmonized inflation eased to 20.1% in February below January’s 21.4%. February’s figure marked the weakest inflation rate since June 2022. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, transportation, and housing and utilities grew at a weaker pace in February.
That said, the trend pointed up, with annual average harmonized inflation coming in at 19.3% in February (January: 18.4%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 20.3% in February, from the previous month’s 21.5%.
Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.63% in February over the previous month, accelerating from January’s 0.52% increase.
