Steel (USA) prices averaged USD 1,161 per metric ton in July, up 2.7% from June. On 31 July, the commodity traded at USD 1,191 per metric ton, up 3.1% from 30 June.
U.S. steel prices rose for an eleventh consecutive month in July, reaching their highest level in more than four years. Section 232 import tariffs remained the key driver, reducing the competitiveness of imported steel and keeping the domestic market tight.
