Steel (USA) Price OutlookPrices for hot-rolled coil U.S. steel have lost some ground in recent weeks, as distributors reduced their orders of the metal on expectations of a price adjustment after the huge gains recorded this year. Steel traded at USD 894 per metric ton on 3 August, which was 2.8% lower than on the same day in July and was up 38.2% on a year-to-date basis. The price was 44.2% higher than on the same day last year.
