Steel (USA) Price OutlookU.S. steel prices retreated in May, as global demand conditions softened and the supply backdrop somewhat normalized. Prices averaged USD 1,339 per metric ton, which was 9.1% lower than April's price and was down 13.0% from the same month last year. Meanwhile, on 31 May, hot-rolled coil steel traded at USD 1,190 per metric ton, which was down 15.0% from the same day of the previous month.
