Natural gas EU prices averaged USD 10.89 per MMBtu in October, down 2.1% from September. On 31 October, the commodity traded at USD 10.53 per MMBtu, down 2.7% from 30 September.
Average prices trended down further to a 15-month low in October. European inventories ended the month 82.8% full, suggesting the bloc will reach its storage target before the winter heating season. Stocks have been boosted by higher LNG cargoes, which have been made affordable by tepid Chinese demand and soft industrial output.
