Natural gas EU prices averaged USD 11.59 per MMBtu in April, down 12.5% from March. On 30 April, the commodity traded at USD 10.77 per MMBtu, down 16.3% from 31 March.
A drop in heating demand—and thus prices—is typical in April as spring comes, with European storage rising to 40% by 30 April (31 March: 34%). U.S. tariffs knocked prices further, as they will likely hit energy demand. However, prices were still up nearly 30% annually, with storage below the five-year seasonal average of 50%.
