Cobalt prices averaged USD 32,965 per metric ton in June, down 0.9% from May. On 30 June, the commodity traded at USD 32,891 per metric ton, down 1.1% from 30 May.
While the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) extended its ban on cobalt exports for three months in June, prices remained broadly stable as officials had already announced that restrictions would remain in place. Moreover, the physical supply chain remains well supplied due to multiple years of market surplus.
