Rice prices averaged USD 422 per metric ton in June, down 1.9% from May. On 30 June, the commodity traded at USD 406 per metric ton, down 5.6% from 30 May.
After rising at the fastest rate in one year in May, rice prices retreated in June on a robust supply outlook. India is reportedly holding unprecedented rice stocks and is preparing to harvest another record crop later this year.
