Coffee prices averaged USD 378 cents per pound in April, down 3.7% from March. On 30 April, the commodity traded at USD 399 cents per pound, up 5.0% from 31 March.
Prices for arabica coffee averaged lower in April on a weaker demand outlook; markets braced for import tariffs on the commodity that would hurt consumption. Moreover, unusually wet weather in Brazil ended the recent dry spell in the country’s largest coffee-growing region, Minas Gerais, and lifted the supply outlook.
