Steel (USA) Price Outlook

U.S. steel prices retreated in May, as global demand conditions softened and the supply backdrop somewhat normalized. Prices averaged USD 1,339 per metric ton, which was 9.1% lower than April's price and was down 13.0% from the same month last year. Meanwhile, on 31 May, hot-rolled coil steel traded at USD 1,190 per metric ton, which was down 15.0% from the same day of the previous month.
