Israel Economic Sentiment April 2019

Israel: Consumer and business sentiment improve in April

Confidence among Israeli households improved from minus 8 in March to minus 7 in April. The uptick in sentiment was driven by a more upbeat outlook regarding the general economy and households’ probability of saving. In contrast, households grew marginally more pessimistic regarding the labor market.

Meanwhile, business sentiment inched up from 25 in March to 26 in April, likely supported by low borrowing costs and strong growth momentum. Continuing solid consumer and business confidence readings by historical standards bode well for domestic demand.
