Harmonized inflation rises to highest level since August 2023 in June
Harmonized inflation grew to 3.4% in June, up from May’s 2.7%. June's figure was the highest inflation rate in nearly a year. The increase was primarily due to quicker growth in prices for housing and utilities plus transportation. That said, annual average harmonized inflation fell to 2.3% in June (May: 2.5%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation rose to 3.2% in June from the previous month's 2.7%. Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.17% over the previous month in June, coming in below the 0.29% rise seen in May. June's result marked the weakest reading since January.
