Netherlands: Industrial production stagnates in May
Latest reading: Industrial production—excluding construction—stagnated in calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in May, following a 1.9% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in May worsened for manufacturing (+0.1% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +1.6% in April) and water collection and distribution (-4.0% vs +5.3% in April). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying improved in May (+4.4% vs -1.6% in April).
In calendar and seasonally adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production—excluding construction—rose 4.0% in May, following a 4.3% increase in the previous month.
