Portugal: Industrial production falls in June
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 3.8% on a calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in June, following a 1.0% increase in the prior month. June’s reading was the weakest in a year.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in June worsened for manufacturing (-3.1% in calendar and seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -0.1% in May), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-8.5% vs +7.7% in May) and mining and quarrying (-2.7% vs +4.9% in May).
On a calendar and seasonally adjusted year-on-year basis, industrial production fell 0.7% in June, following a 1.6% fall in the previous month.
