Euro Area: Industrial production stagnates in June
Latest reading: Industrial production stagnated in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in June, following a 0.3% increase in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in June worsened for intermediate goods (-0.8% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs -0.2% in May), capital goods (-1.4% vs +0.5% in May), energy (+1.5% vs +2.6% in May) and non-durable consumer goods (+3.0% vs +3.3% in May). In contrast, the reading for durable consumer goods improved in June (+0.3% vs -1.3% in May).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production was up 0.1% in June, following a 0.1% fall in the prior month.
