Belarus: Inflation rises in July
Consumer prices rose 0.2% over the previous month in July, following a 0.1% month-on-month drop in June. A rebound in food prices and a faster rise in service costs drove the upturn, more than offsetting a decline in the prices for non-food goods.
Inflation rose to 6.0% in July from 5.7% in June, thus moving further above the Central Bank’s 5.0% target. Meanwhile, annual average inflation inched up to 5.6% in July from 5.5% in June.
