Ukraine: Inflation rises in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices increased 7.7% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 7.2% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, there were higher price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.5% in annual terms vs +5.6% in June) and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+4.5% vs +2.9% in June). In contrast, price pressures reduced for transportation in July (+18.6% vs +19.0% in June).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices were up 8.1% on a year-on-year basis in July, stable from the prior month’s reading.
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.30% in July on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.10% fall in the prior month.
