Kazakhstan: Inflation decelerates in July from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 10.2% on a year-on-year basis in July, following a 10.3% rise in the prior month. July’s reading was the weakest since March 2025.
Relative to the previous month’s data, there were reduced price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+10.0% on a year-on-year basis vs +10.3% in June), transportation (+11.6% vs +11.9% in June) and restaurants and hotels (+10.9% vs +11.1% in June). In contrast, there were higher price pressures for housing and utilities (+5.7% vs +5.1% in June) and health (+14.6% vs +13.7% in June).
Lastly, consumer prices rose 0.60% in July in month-on-month terms, following a 0.80% increase in the prior month.
