Ukraine: Inflation ebbs in June from the prior month
Latest reading: Consumer prices were up 7.2% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 8.2% increase in the previous month. June’s reading was the weakest since July 2024.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, there were milder price pressures for food and non-alcoholic beverages (+5.6% in annual terms vs +7.9% in May) and transportation (+19.0% vs +20.0% in May). In contrast, price pressures were higher for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels in June (+2.9% vs +2.1% in May).
Meanwhile, core consumer prices rose 8.1% on a year-on-year basis in June, following a 7.9% increase in the previous month.
Finally, consumer prices declined 0.10% in June on a month-on-month basis, following a 0.90% increase in the previous month.
