Turkey: Industrial production falls in March
Latest reading: Industrial production fell 0.7% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms in March, following 2.7% growth in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, readings in March softened for manufacturing (-1.1% in seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms vs +3.3% in February) and mining and quarrying (-1.6% vs +0.5% in February). In contrast, the reading for energy improved in March (+3.9% vs -3.6% in February).
On a year-on-year basis, industrial production was down 1.1% in March, following a 2.3% rise in the prior month.
