Switzerland: Inflation remains tepid in January

Consumer prices fell 0.2% in January in month-on-month terms, down from December’s flat reading. January’s drop was driven by lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages; healthcare; and clothing and footwear.

Inflation rose 0.2% in January, matching December’s reading, while core inflation also clocked in at 0.2%. Low price pressures are being driven by the strong franc and mild economic momentum.
