Sweden: Inflation eases in May
Consumer prices with a fixed interest rate rose 0.22% in May over the previous month, moderating slightly from April’s 0.27% rise. Looking at the details of the release, food and non-alcoholic beverages, and recreation and culture prices dropped in May compared to the previous month, while price pressures for transportation picked up pace.
CPIF inflation eased to 2.1% in May, down from April’s 31-month-high of 2.5%. Meanwhile, the trend pointed up mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 1.1% in May (April: 0.9%).
