Sweden: CPI and CPIF inflation slow in July
The consumer price index (CPI) increased 0.4% in July compared to the previous month, contrasting the 0.1% decrease in June. The increase was driven by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, package holidays and transport. CPI inflation slowed to 1.7% in July, down from 1.8% in June. Core CPI inflation, which excludes volatile energy costs, slowed to 1.5% from 1.7%.
CPIF inflation—which is inflation based on a fixed investment rate and is closely followed by the Central Bank—moderated to 1.5% in July from 1.7% in June, hitting the mid-point of the Central Bank’s 1.0%–3.0% tolerance band. Core CPIF inflation, which excludes energy prices, decelerated to 1.7% from to 1.9%.
