Spain: Retail sales fall in July
Latest reading: Retail sales declined 0.9% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in July, following a 0.3% rise in the previous month.
Relative to the previous month’s figures, the reading for single retail stores softened in July (-0.5% on a working-day and seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +0.1% in June). In contrast, readings improved for large chain stores (+0.7% vs +0.5% in June) and small chain stores (-1.7% vs -3.3% in June).
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales fell 0.3% in July, following a 0.6% increase in the previous month.
