Serbia: Economic sentiment drops in August
Latest reading: Economic sentiment went down to 96.9 in August, following July’s 98.6. The latest reading was below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the economy.
In August, sentiment worsened in the industrial sector (-0.8 vs +0.2 in July) and the services sector (+3.6 vs +5.7 in July). On the flipside, sentiment brightened in the retail sector (+8.8 vs +6.8 in July) and among consumers (-2.2 vs -2.4 in July). Sentiment in the construction sector was unchanged from July at -6.5.
